Reflexology Lymphatic Drainage

Please note - this is not a body massage. This treatment works on the lymphatic system through the feet.

The Function of the Lymphatic System

The lymphatic system is a network of very small tubes (vessels) that drain lymph fluid from all over the body. The primary function of the lymphatic system is to transport lymph, a fluid containing infection-fighting white blood cells, throughout the body. The lymphatic system primarily consists of lymphatic vessels, which are similar to the circulatory system's veins and capillaries. The function of the lymphatic system is to interact with three other body systems: cardiovascular system, digestive system an immune system so it is vital our lymphatic system is in balance. RLD aims to stimulate the function of the lymphatic system and drain excess lymph from the damaged area.

What is involved in a Lymph Drainage Reflexology (RLD) treatment?

A consultation is required at the start of your first treatment; this ensures RLD is right for you. The recipient lies on a couch or in a reclining chair. As it's just the feet that are worked on, you remain fully clothed at all times, apart from removing your socks and shoes. The therapist applies pressure to the feet using specific thumb, finger and hand techniques. A Reflexology session lasts approximately 1 hour, however, if the client would prefer to have measurements taken before and after their session this can add at least 15 mins onto the session at an additional charge.

What are the benefits of RLD?
